# Understanding the data

For someone looking at a figure and wondering what the marker beside it means: disclosure codes as they appear on screen, vintages, and estimated values.

## Who this section is for

You are looking at a value in the table and it carries a dotted underline, or a reliability score, or the vintage pill says a name you did not choose. These pages answer what each of those means on screen and what to do about it. They are deliberately short and they link to the methodology for the full account rather than repeating it.

How a value was built is described on the [disclosure and provenance](/docs/methodology/disclosure) page, which is the source these pages cite.

- [Corrections and wrong values](/docs/data/corrections)
- [Disclosure flags on screen](/docs/data/disclosure-flags)
- [What estimated means](/docs/data/estimated-values)
- [Occupation values](/docs/data/occupation-values)
- [Vintages on screen](/docs/data/vintages)
