Changing your counties

Adding a county is immediate. Removing one is scheduled for the monthly billing date. A swap costs nothing; a smaller paid count takes effect at the end of the period.

The short answer

An owner or admin can add counties at any time and they are usable at once; if the addition goes over the allowance, the extra slots are charged, prorated, when you confirm. Removals are gathered into a batch that takes effect on the organization’s monthly billing date, and can be cancelled until then. Changing which counties you have does not change what you pay; changing how many paid slots you have does.

The detail

A county scheduled for removal stops holding its slot immediately, so swapping it for another costs nothing on any plan. Reducing the number of paid slots takes effect at the end of the billing period, is not credited, and everything paid for stays usable until then; on an annual plan that is the anniversary, and the Billing screen says so. If a downgrade leaves more counties active than the new plan allows, the excess is not deleted: it is set aside, the most recently used counties stay active by default, and the first sign-in afterwards asks you to confirm or swap that choice, free. Upgrading again restores the set-aside counties at once. If a subscription ends and the organization drops to Free, its counties are read-locked, not deleted.

While a payment is past due, county detail is paused for the organization until it is settled. A trial county is removed when the trial ends, and is not one of these set-aside counties.

Allowances and per-county prices are on counties included in a plan. Plan changes are on changing plans.
